Commission
Approved affiliates earn 20% of the subscription revenue from every customer who uses their code, for as long as that customer stays subscribed. Commission is calculated monthly from completed payments only.
How a referral is counted
A referral is counted when a customer enters your affiliate code at checkout and completes payment. There is no separate link-click requirement - the code is what determines credit. Self-referrals, where the affiliate and the customer are the same person or business, are not eligible for commission.
Customer discount
Customers who use an affiliate code receive 15% off their first payment. This discount applies once per customer, on their first invoice only.
Payouts
Payouts are issued monthly by bank transfer, once your pending commission balance crosses the minimum payout threshold shown in your dashboard. Balances below the threshold carry over to the next cycle.
Payout threshold
The minimum payout threshold is $50. Pending commission below this amount carries over to the next payout cycle rather than being paid out.
Refunds and clawbacks
If a referred customer is refunded within 7 days of payment, the associated commission is reversed and deducted from your pending balance.
Fraud
In addition to self-referral, the following are prohibited: cookie-stuffing or forced code application without customer consent, paying or incentivizing customers to use an affiliate code, and listing affiliate codes on coupon or deal aggregator sites without clear disclosure of the affiliate relationship. Accounts found engaging in fraudulent activity will be suspended and pending commission forfeited.
Confidentiality
Affiliates agree not to publicly share or disclose to competitors any non-public information obtained through the program, including commission rates, dashboard data, or these terms, beyond what Smacient makes publicly available.
Brand use and solicitation
Affiliates may not bid on "Smacient," "Claude," "Anthropic," or any variation of these terms in paid search advertising. Affiliates may not imply or state that Smacient is officially partnered with or endorsed by Anthropic. Use of Smacient's name and logo in promotional materials must accurately represent the affiliate relationship.
Misleading promotion
Misleading promotion includes, but is not limited to: false or exaggerated discount claims, fake urgency or scarcity messaging, implying endorsement by Anthropic, guaranteeing specific results or outcomes from using the product, and impersonating Smacient staff or support channels. Violations may result in suspension or termination of the affiliate account.
Approval and conduct
Applications are reviewed manually before a code is activated. Smacient reserves the right to suspend an affiliate's account for misleading promotion, spam, or violation of these terms.
Changes to this program
Smacient may update commission rates, discount amounts, or these terms at any time. Active affiliates will be notified of material changes by email.
