No. The connector extracts publicly available data from the Google Play Store - the same data visible to anyone browsing the Play Store without an account. No Google developer account, Google Play API access, or technical setup is required.
search_google_play finds apps by keyword. get_google_play_reviews pulls user reviews for specific apps. get_google_play_app_details returns full metadata including installs, IAP range, changelog, and developer contact. get_google_play_similar finds what Google considers similar to a given app. Claude can chain all four in a single conversation without you needing to copy App IDs between steps.
You can use either the App ID (like com.instagram.android) or a full Play Store URL. If you don't know the App ID, just search by keyword first and Claude will surface the apps along with their IDs, then you can reference them by name in follow-up requests.
